Why are there people cutting trees/ limbs/ vegetation on my property?
Good Hope has been hired by your local utility company or municipality to perform vegetation management inside the utility right-of-way or remove debris due to storm damage. These areas are often located on private property and the maintenance is necessary to provide reliable energy.
Will the limbs and other vegetation be picked up after the lines are trimmed?
All utility companies have slightly different policies, but in most cases, our cutting crews have equipment designed to pick up limbs and debris as we go, especially in the well-kept areas like yards, pastures, groomed roadside, etc. There are cases where small amounts can be left behind for short periods of time due to weather, accessibility, end of work day, etc. Please feel free to reach out to us via our website or by phone if you have any issues or questions. Please note that if vegetation issues were caused by storm damage or other acts of nature, then we cannot be responsible and are not required to remove any vegetation.
Some of the power lines at my house were trimmed but some of it wasn’t, why is that?
It is our goal to trim all of the lines the first time we come to the area, unfortunately, there are other factors like weather, accessibility, equipment availability, manpower, etc., that will sometimes require that we re-visit certain areas. We use the latest technology to help track these areas so that we can assure that we know where to return and what needs to be done. Our workers will make their best effort to notify you via phone call or by leaving door hangers with our information on it.
Why are some of the crews cutting down trees along the right-of-way instead of just trimming?
There are particular trees that have been deemed by the local utility or municipality as hazardous and an imminent threat to the utility lines. In many cases, these trees are either dead, diseased, severely damaged or leaning. Good Hope has been hired to safely take down these trees.
How are you accessing the right-of-way?
We try to follow the right-of-way as best as we can, but that’s not always possible. We will, at times, have to access the utility lines from driveways, yards, pastures, trails, through gates, across creeks, through wooded areas, food plots, and other means, within reason. It is our intent to provide the vegetation management that is required with as little impact to your property as possible. Please feel free to contact us via our website or by phone if you have any issues.
